The size of a space is measured not in square metres but in the depth of the experience it contains. A 3 × 7 metre container volume was treated as a laboratory in which modern living is condensed; a settled dwelling, removed from the transience of a caravan yet light enough to be relocated when necessary.
The design sits on a generous timber deck that connects it to the surrounding landscape. Inside, the living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom flow into one another without compromising their individual functions; every centimetre of the 21 square metres was designed around the principle of spatial efficiency.
The modern, sharp-edged container form is balanced by the warmth of the timber deck, showing that a coherent living environment is possible even within the most limited volume.
